To us, quality supersedes quantity - great samples are not determined by their size in bytes, but rather by the level of preservation in detail and character. Further to producing our own top quality samples holding up to the highest Clavia standard, we have also teamed up with several sample houses and licensed some of the very best samples available, including Kirk Hunter, Sonic Reality as well as the complete Mellotron instrument library. Exclusively available to the nord wave are once again the classic sounds of the Mellotron - the tape based sampling pioneer invented in the early sixties. When it comes to instruments having an impact on modern music evolvement, the Mellotron is possibly preceded only by the electric guitar. The nord wave comes shipped with all 68 instruments of the Mk I, Mk II, M300 and M400 Mellotrons. By sampling the sounds using fresh tape copies and a newly manufactured mellotron instrument - built using vintage components - the nord wave reproduces these sounds with all hisses and fizzes exactly as they were meant to be.
